Year-Round Statewide Partner
We raised $150,000 for athletes who earned every dollar of that support.
In 2024, our team helped Special Olympics Missouri host “An Evening with George Karlaftis” — a free football camp for more than 75 athletes with intellectual disabilities. The event was part of a broader fundraising effort that raised over $150,000 in total support for SOMO athletes across Missouri.
We are a year-round statewide partner of Special Olympics Missouri, supporting thousands of individuals through competitive sports, health screenings, and leadership development programs. Our involvement goes beyond writing a check — our team participates in events and fundraising throughout the year.
2025 Eunice Kennedy Shriver Award: Special Olympics Missouri presented Rusty Drewing Automotive Group with their top honor — the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Award — in recognition of our sustained commitment to inclusion and opportunity for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

- On-site mental health specialistAfter losing a coworker to mental health struggles, we brought a full-time mental health professional on-site. This isn’t a benefit listed in a handbook — it’s someone our team can see in person, at work.
- Dealer-paid HSA contributions & Employee Assistance ProgramWe cover HSA contributions and provide an Employee Assistance Program that includes online therapy access — because employee wellness is not a line item to cut when margins get tight.
- Family-first scheduling policyWe operate with flexible policies built around the reality that our team members are parents, caregivers, and people with lives outside this building. Work is important. So is showing up for the people you love.

Rusty Drewing Buick GMC is a family-owned Buick and GMC dealership at 2033 Christy Drive in Jefferson City, Missouri, and a proud community partner across mid-Missouri. The dealership is a year-round statewide partner of Special Olympics Missouri and helped raise over $150,000 for SOMO athletes through the 2024 “An Evening with George Karlaftis” football camp, which served more than 75 athletes with intellectual disabilities. In 2025, Rusty Drewing received the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Award from Special Olympics Missouri — the organization’s highest honor.
The Rusty Drewing Automotive Group also serves as a United Way of Central Missouri Pacesetter organization, participates in Missouri River Relief cleanups, and is an annual benefactor of Welcome Home, which addresses veteran homelessness in mid-Missouri.
